Both “Pirates of the Caribbean: dead men tell No Tales” and “Baywatch” mark the major blockbusters this summer. Though “Baywatch” hit the cinemas a few days ago, the film has managed to gross $23 million at Friday box office. On the other hand, "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" made over $45 million from Friday night previews.

The two films are currently in theaters and may make a lot of money within a week. Disney’s action movie “Pirates” is on course to debut in China and India, while Paramount’s action comedy “Baywatch” is expected to drown at only $24 million within a week.

Which film will earn more than the other?

No doubt, “Pirates” will gross far better than “Baywatch” as the movie made up to $39 million in its opening weekend. From Thursday night previews, “Baywatch” has made $5.6 million, while the “Pirates” movie grossed around $16 million. It is evident that Disney’s film will gross around $1.2 billion during its theoretical run, while Paramount’s movie will hardly earn $600 million in its theoretical run.

So far, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” has dominated “Baywatch” at the Friday box office, but it’s not possible for us to say anything about what will be the fate of the two movies. Johnny Depp’s film is on the right track of becoming one of the highest-grossing films of the year, while Dwayne Johnson starred movie has a potential leg up on the competition with a Wednesday opening.
