Walt Disney Pictures has released several new posters for “Pirates 5,” depicting that Captain Jack Sparrow is dead. After a long time, Johnny Depp is returning to the big screen in an iconic role in the new “Pirates” film. He plays a brave warrior, Jack, who heads the team of Black Pearl to destroy the enemies. According to the filmmaker, Johnny loses control over his supernatural powers and dies at the end. The actor looks excited about the movie, and always wanted to play a dynamic role in a film with real-life action sequences. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is all about real people and genuine characters.

The studio has unleashed several new posters and two teaser trailers for the movie. The TV spots provide a bit more insight of the story and Jack Sparrow’s role.

The swashbuckler movie is set to release on May 26, 2017. Joachim Ronning has directed and co-written the project, and Espen Sandberg writes its dialogues. In addition to Depp, the film has Geoffrey Rush, Kevin McNally, Brenton Thwaites, Kaya Scodelario, and Javier Bardem in the leading characters. Keira Knightley is returning from the previous film as Elizabeth Swann.

Joachim cites the last installment as inspiration for dialogues, story, and visual effects.

The filmmaker announced “Pirates 5” in 2013, with Johnny being involved in the writing process. Most of the scenes have been shot in Australia, and the film will be released in a variety of formats, including RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and DVD.

Marketing and critical reception

So far, dozens of movie trailers have been released.

Both Johnny and Elizabeth regularly upload new movie posters on the official Instagram and Twitter accounts. The movie was screened for a prize at the 2017 CinemaCon, and initial comments were highly positive. It is expected to gross over $120 million in the opening weekend.
