She tells us the story of her life, flipping between past and present. Hannah was bullied by individuals at her school and the cassette tapes are for 13 people that influenced her to take her life. There are 13 episodes and each episode is a different tape. After each episode ends, the show leaves you wanting more.
Why many are talking
The show has received mixed reviews. It has received positive reviews from critics, but also has attracted some controversy. Some feel that the show is too graphic and that it glamorizes suicide. It broke some Twitter records, being the topic of 3.4 million tweets and re-tweets in the first week.

Season 2 and what to expect
The creator of the show, Brian Yorker, said, "Hannah's story isn't over." Her parents still don't have the full story and they have questions that they want answered. There are characters who are beginning the process of coming to terms with what part they may have played in Hannah's death. Hannah's death will change lives in the future.
Yorkey says, "I think that there is so much that's fascinating about the way we grieve, the way we recover, the way we learn to take better care of each other."
