According to Us Weekly on Saturday, April 8, 2017, there was breaking news that Janet Jackson had just separated from her billionaire husband, Wissam Al Mana. This was such a shock to a lot of people because the couple became parents just three months ago. Their son, Eissa was born on January 3, 2017.

Janet's plans

According to multiple reports, the 50-year-old new mother plans to continue living in London with her son. The only other thing reported was that the split from the Qatari businessman was amicable, and the couple has decided to go their separate ways.

The couple married in 2012 and had their first child five years later when Janet was 50 years old. There had been much talk that the singer was too old to have a baby, but she gave birth without any complications. Both mother and the 42-year-old father have come to the conclusion that they will continue to be good parents even though they will live apart.

A source close to the couple alleged that the marriage was just not working. It was surmised that Janet wasn't content with keeping a low profile and staying out of the limelight. She postponed her Unbreakable world tour last April to start a family. Just last week, it was reported that Janet's husband was helping her settle into her roles as wife and mother.

Another speculation was that Wissam Al Mana showed no concern for Janet's mother, Katherine Jackson who claimed elder abuse by her nephew. It was reported that Janet was worried about her mother while her husband showed little or no concern. To most people, that doesn't seem like a good reason to split from a spouse.

The singer's marriages

The singer's fans were hoping for the best for the couple especially since Janet has not been successful in relationships. She was married third times. Who said, "The third time is a charm"? Janet's first husband was singer James DeBarge, and they split after one year. For nine years, she was married to second husband dancer Rene Elizondo.

Her third husband is a businessman from whom she has just split. It is too soon to know if the couple plans to divorce after five years.

When Janet first got married, there were speculations that she was converting to Islam to please her husband. She had been seen wearing head coverings, and during her last performances, she was fully covered, unlike her former days.

Janet has been the subject of speculation most of her life; especially when it came to relationships. However, there will continue to be rumors until the real story is told by either Janet or her estranged husband.
