Daddy's Home 2” is being shot in Hingham and several big celebrities are present on the location. This upcoming American movie is directed by Sean Anders, from a screenplay by John Morris. Stars like Will Ferrell, Linda Cardellini, Mark Wahlberg, John Cena, Mel Gibson, and John Lithgow are busy in the shooting of their upcoming film. “Daddy's Home 2” is a sequel to 2015 blockbuster “Daddy's Home.”

We found tents, lights, and crates strewn about a Hingham neighborhood on lawns yesterday. Rows of trailers filled nearby parking lots as people in vans were shuttled back and forth from location to location, while police officers kept traffic moving.

All big stars in Hingham

All big stars were in the town shooting several scenes for the movie. Men and women gathered around the Prospect Street to catch glimpses of their favorite celebrities. Crews set up several trailers in the parking area of Congregation Sha’aray Shalom and Notre Dame Academy. In addition to Will, Linda, Mark, John, Mel and John, Chicago Bulls player and NBA star Jimmy Butler also visited the movie sets.

The film is in its fourth week of filming and has about seven weeks to go. Director Sean Anders and the whole team will soon pay a visit to Framingham, Concord, and the Berkshires to shoot additional scenes.

Until now, over 150 movies and television series have been shot in Massachusetts.

These include “Central Intelligence,” “Ghostbusters,” “Black Mass,” “The Departed,” “Patriots Day,” and “Here Comes the Boom.” Not only this but also most of the scenes of “The Company Men” were shot in this part of the city.
