A glimpse of the project
On December 19, 2016, Sony Pictures released several movie posters featuring Idris Elba and Tom Taylor.
Some production stills were unveiled in the first week of February 2017. Again, on March 20, another “Dark Tower” poster was revealed featuring Roland and his companions, Jake and Walter. Thus, we can continue hoping that dozens of new posters and teaser trailers will be out before the film swings into theaters.
The story revolves around Roland Deschain, Mid-World's brave gunslinger. He travels to the post-apocalyptic landscape, and is looking for the most powerful edifice, The Dark Tower. He is told that it is located in the city of End-World. So, he begins the journey towards the End-World, which is under the threat of weird creatures. Roland wants to destroy the colonies of aliens. He makes good use of supernatural powers gifted by the Great Old Ones.
He has to carry on the mission no matter how tough the situation is.
‘The Dark Tower’ TV series
“The Dark Tower” is one of the most anticipated science fiction films. The project is directed by Nikolaj Arcel, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. The filmmaker claims that the movie is not a typical adaptation, but more of a new take on the series.
Last night, he tweeted a still of the Horn of Eld to create excitement among fans. The movie will be released both in 2D and 3D.
In October 2016, Entertainment Weekly reported that a TV series with the same name and story was in the works. It will premiere in the first half of 2018. Both Taylor and Elba will reprise their roles of Chambers and Roland, respectively. Previously, “The Dark Tower” was scheduled to release on February 17, 2017, but the date was pushed back to July 28, as the filmmaker was taking the time to finalize its visual effects.
