As Gwen Stefani is very much happy and in love with Blake Shelton, it looks like her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale is still left brokenhearted. In a tell-all interview with Best magazine, the Bush frontman opened up about his divorce from the No Doubt vocalist and how it significantly affects him.

The 51-year-old singer revealed that it is not easy breaking a relationship of almost 20 years. Hence, he talked about how painful the divorce they have been through and how he hadn’t entirely moved on.

The painful divorce

“I don’t think you ever get over it,” Rossdale said about his high-profile divorce.

He explained that people just move on from the heartache and that is what he has been really trying hard to do.

The “Adrenaline” hitmaker also added that being in a divorce is the most painful thing one has to go through. However, he assured that he and “The Voice” judge are both committed to co-parenting their three children - Kingston (10), Zuma Nesta Rock (8), and Apollo Bowie Flynn (3). In fact, this is the most important thing for him since they split.

To recall, Stefani and Rossdale met when their respective bands, No Doubt, and Bush, were both on tour together in 1995. They eventually tied the knots in 2002 and decided to go their separate ways in 2016. The “Don’t Speak” hitmaker filed for divorce in 2016 citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The effect of the divorce

Rossdale revealed that after the divorce, the songs he wrote became overemotional, depressing and sad.

Hence, his record company complained of its being over-sentimental. He, then, just admitted that he is really said thinking that his almost 20-year relationship with Stefani has ended. "So I had to try and find a balance, which I think I have," he said. However, “The Voice UK” coach admitted that he and his ex-wife remain good friends, but it still greatly affects him and his career.

His future on ‘The Voice UK.'

Meanwhile, as the “Hollaback Girl” singer wishes him the best of luck on his stint in the reality television series, Rossdale revealed that he is not yet starting a discussion about his possible return for the next season.

The English musician-actor disclosed that the producers have yet to approach him.

Thus his future on the show remains uncertain. On the other hand, his fellow coaches Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am, and Sir Tom Jones are now all in discussion to be part of the next series. Hence, this might mean that he could be leaving the show after just one chapter.
