About the movie

How to Talk to Girls at Parties” is an anticipated film directed and produced by Mitchell. Philippa Goslett has penned the script. The story is based on an award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman. The cast includes Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp, Ruth Wilson, and Matt Lucas. It is Nicole Kidman's third movie that will premiere at the fest. Cameron Mitchell has recruited Elarica Gallacher, Jessica Plummer, and Joanna Scanlan for the supporting roles. In winter 2016, See-Saw Films announced that it'll begin shooting of the movie in collaboration with Howard Gertler, Iain Canning, and Emile Sherman.

Later on, it joined hands with John Cameron Mitchell for the project. The filmmaker has sold the US distribution rights to A24 for an undisclosed amount. Mitchell’s upcoming film is selected from over 2,500 entries from 200 countries worldwide. The director looks excited as the movie will grace the fest alongside three films and one TV show of Nicole Kidman.

Alex Sharp received several awards for his incredible performance in an adaptation of "A Clockwork Orange." The actor is playing an important character in this film. The story is about a teenage boy and his best friends who sneak int a party where they come across three beautiful girls. At first, they think that the girls study at a local college, but eventually realize that the ladies belong to a distant galaxy.

The leader of this group wants to destroy our planet, so the boys decide to stop them from the evil mission.

The competition

It seems that “How to Talk to Girls at Parties” won’t defeat Coppola’s thriller “The Beguiled,” but John Cameron Mitchell is excited to at least get an entry to the fest. Coppola is a Cannes vet as her “The Bling Ring” was premiered in 2013, and “Marie Antoinette” was screened in 2006. John says that if the film receives positive responses, he’ll work on an installment that will probably hit a theater near you in 2018.
