The record-breaking "Beauty and the Beast" indicates that more live-action remakes will come this year. Disney announced that it is developing dozens of remakes, and will release several new films in the upcoming months. With so many major movies in development, it's almost impossible to keep track of them all. Here is a list of upcoming Disney live-action remakes. It would not be wrong to say that the studio enjoys a lot of success every year.

‘Aladdin’

Disney announced that it will release a live-action adaptation of “Aladdin” by the end of the year.

Previously, the studio invited actors from the Middle East, and said that newcomers play Aladdin and Jasmine. Director Guy Ritchie confirmed that actors possess great singing and dancing skills. December feels like a long time away, and it will give anxious viewers a long time to wait between now and the eventual release of the film. Guy Ritchie is already famous for “Sherlock Holmes,” and “The Man from UNCLE,” so expectations are high.

‘Christopher Robin’

Disney makes big bucks with its live-action remakes, and the studio confirmed that “Christopher Robin” will hit the global cinemas in August 2017. The story revolves around a boy who befriends a teddy bear, Pooh Bear. Unlike other live-action remakes, this film strays a little farther from the source material.

Either way, with a plethora of classic characters and stories to choose from, it will be interesting to see what's done with this adaptation.

‘Oliver Twist’

Oliver Twist” is another big announcement by Disney. The studio plans to remake classic tales in a large number. The story sounds a little more off-beat than most. Disney announced that “Oliver Twist” will star Ice Cube.

Cube plays Fagin, and director Thomas Kail worked hard on this project. “Oliver Twist” has been adapted many times, and Disney says the new version will break the records of previous blockbusters. Cube teamed up with Jeff Kwatinetz to write the script for the movie. With such a classic story as this, it will be interesting to see what this latest take will offer.
