It is not a secret to Hollywood fans that the industry makes dozens of sequels every year. The idea of sequels and prequels is not new, but the sheer volume of sequels being pushed out is just staggering at times. Just like 2016, this year has a lot of sequels currently in the works. So far, we enjoyed “Captain America: Civil War,” “The Conjuring 2,” and “Finding Dory.” We should now look forward to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day,” “Resident Evil: Vendetta,” and “Saw: Legacy.”

It’s been several years since the iconic horror villain Jigsaw terrorized us on the big screen, but the long wait is over as Leigh Whannell confirms a new movie in “Saw” franchise.

It will hit the theaters in October, along with action-thriller “Geostorm.” After weeks of speculation, director Peter Spierig confirms an October 27 release date for the eighth “Saw” movie. This upcoming film stars Tobin Bell, Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, and Callum Keith Rennie. Previously, fans thought that “Saw 3D” is the final film in the franchise, but the filmmaker says that fans will see more movies in the coming years. "Saw: Legacy" is one of the most anticipated films.

‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day.'

Terminator 2: Judgment Day” is coming to theaters next year, and fans have high expectations for this project. “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.

Previously, James Cameron confirmed the release of another movie with a bit of delay, and now he says that “Terminator 2: Judgement Day” will be released in January 2018. A few months ago, Cameron expressed interest in making a 3D version of the film. He says that the gritty aesthetic of the first movie wouldn’t play well in a 3D movie.

‘Resident Evil: Vendetta’

Fans are excited because the new computer-animated movie “Resident Evil: Vendetta” will soon hit the theaters. Sony says that the movie is currently in works, and will be released on May 27, 2017.

Additionally, Sony confirms the release of “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.” “Resident Evil: Vendetta” is a follow-up to “Resident Evil: Damnation,” and “Resident Evil: Degeneration.” It is a joint venture between Sony and Fathom Events, and features Chris Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, and Rebecca Chambers.
