For many Alien fans, Thursday night would be the day their fears would either be confirmed or denied; Is "Alien: Covenant "going to ruin an already amazing movie? Luckily for those who are impatient, 20th Century Fox decided to release the trailer after an unfortunate leak.
The trailer released
The trailer, which is 2:36 long, shows our main character, played by Katherine Waterston’s Daniels, and the rest of the crew from the colony ship Covenant having one final meeting before they land on the new planet they would be using for colonization. At first, the planet looks like a utopia, but sooner than later, our characters find out that this planet is not what it seems.
As they scour through the new planet, they see and find some strange things, such as wheat, a human vegetation, and absolutely no animals. Unfortunately for them, they find the Engineer's ship from the movie "Prometheus," which harbors the classic dangers: facehuggers, back bursters, and even a cameo from the trademark Alien. Can you say no thanks?
The people who were worried about the mixed reviews for the previous movie in the Alien Franchise, "Prometheus," have nothing to worry about for "Alien: Covenant." Unfortunately, we won’t be able to see the full-length movie for another few months, but I have a feeling this trailer, which is extremely frightening, will keep us occupied until its release.
Cast of Alien: Covenant
Besides the original Alien, there will be plenty of famous faces and cameos in the movie. As said before, Katherine Waterston’s Daniels will be our main character, but there will also be appearances by James Franco, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demian Bichir, and Carmen Ejogo who will become new characters of a crew we will come to love.
To reprise their roles from "Prometheus," Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, and David Fassbender who, besides playing his original character David will be playing an android model named Walter.
Some people have expressed their concern of how the actors will do in this serious movie, as some of them, McBride and Franco, are known mostly for their comedy roles.
Franco and McBride are known for "Sausage Party" (2016), "This Is The End" (2013), and "Pineapple Express" (2008). However, due to their talent, Franco and McBride can handle the legacy of the Alien Franchise. "Alien: Covenant" will be out in theaters on May 19th.
