Jimmy Kimmel introduced Rachel Lindsay as the next "Bachelorette" earlier this week and fans are excited that she will be handing out roses when her season begins in May. However, some viewers were disappointed that ABC made the announcement while Rachel is still on "The Bachelor." The announcement left everyone wondering if Rachel was eliminated after her hometown date or if Nick sent her home after the overnight dates that were filmed in Finland last November.
During a recent appearance on "Good Morning America," Rachel explained that filming for her season begins in two weeks.
She acknowledged during the interview that she wasn't one of the final two girls who made it to the final rose ceremony but she didn't say whether she made it to the fantasy suite or not.
Another rose ceremony
During Episode 7 (February 13), Nick sent home two ladies (Kristina and Danielle M.), leaving him with his final four girls for the upcoming hometown dates —Vanessa, Raven, Corinne, and Rachel.
After Nick meets the families of his final four girls (Episode 8, February 20), they will all travel to New York City for a nerve-wracking rose ceremony. According to Reality Steve, Nick sends Corinne home and that means Rachel (along with Vanessa and Raven) will appear on the overnight dates episode that airs on February 27.
What happened in the Fantasy Suite?
Reality Steve reports that Rachel spent the night in the Fantasy Suite with Nick when the episode was filmed right before Thanksgiving. Of course, that doesn't mean she had sex with Nick.
Nick called Andi Dorfman out for "making love" to him when she wasn't "in love" with him during the "After the Final Rose" special that aired after Andi's "Bachelorette" season finale in 2014.
He took a lot of heat from fans when he shared personal details about his night with Andi so chances are he won't do that again.
Whether Rachel slept with Nick or not, fans will see "The Bachelor" send a heartbroken Rachel home during the overnight dates rose ceremony. The episode airs on Monday, February 27, approximately three months after it was filmed in Finland.
Although she may have been upset at the time, Nick's loss is another man's gain. Rachel will soon embark on her own televised journey to find love — 25 or more men will meet the smart and beautiful attorney at the Bachelor mansion when filming gets underway next month.
