King Arthur is an ancient legend that's been retold millions of times. King Arthur is the man who pulled the legendary Excalibur from a stone—a feat that no one could achieve. The accomplishment was so great that, in most renditions, Arthur becomes the King of Britain.
With the arrival of so many "remakes" and "pre/sequels," it's no surprise that in 2017 the mythical king himself is getting a film. 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' stars Charlie Hunnam (Sons of Anarchy) as a young Arthur who extracts Excalibur from the stone. The film was rescheduled for May 12, 2017.
Today we received a look at the new trailer, and by the looks of it, it could be a worthwhile film. Here's a look:
The new 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' trailer
Earlier this year fans were excited about the then released medieval teaser. However, the new trailer has given us a full-length 2-minute snippet of the feature. The new trailer looks promising—its chalked full of swashbuckling action a la Game of Thrones and shows Hunnam pulling Excalibur from the stone.
People have taken to Twitter to show some enthusiasm:
OMG...I want to see #KingArthur. looks good!

Will the Medieval mythic adventure be good?
Will 'King Arthur: Legend of the Sword' be a box office hitter or absolute stink bomb?
It's hard to tell with the trailer—it appears to have a 'Game of Thrones' meets 'Sherlock' vibe. It's also different from the Comic-Con 2016 trailer. But the sea of remakes and sequels in today's film industry makes judging whether a movie is worth it difficult.
'Ghost Busters,' 'Allegiant,' and 'Ben-Hur' were few of many remakes or sequels that bombed at the box office.
And although it's the first of its kind, Arthur is a heavily used character. There's also the possibility that it can get lost among other films. Highly anticipated movies like 'Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2' and 'Spider-Man: Homecoming,' are slated for summer releases and could move Arthur aside. 'Logan's' upcoming March 3rd release doesn't help either.
Watch Arthur remove Excalibur in theaters May 12th.
