Harry Styles has been creating buzz recently as both fans, and music insiders alike have been are itching to hear his new stuff. Over the past few months, rumors have come and gone about what we can expect, and when we can expect it. However, despite numerous rumors, nothing had been confirmed.
Styles' album almost finished
The first confirmation of Styles' solo album being close came from Sony Music, Styles' new label, executive Rob Stringer. In an interview with Billboard, he said of Styles' album, "We're close, and we're very excited. We have a record we're incredibly excited about, and it's not far from being ready." Stringer continued, "We obviously want everything to be beautifully done because we think he's here to stay." He also said, "Harry has stepped up with the vision of someone who's authentic."
Sony CEO Doug Morris, in another interview with Billboard, echoed Stringer's sentiments.
He said he was, "Feeling so flushed with pride and saying to myself, 'This cake is baked.'"
After these comments by Stringer and Morris, the internet began buzzing about his record, anticipating that it could drop at any time.
However, while Stringer's announcement didn't produce a precise date, Bbc Radio 1 later reported that an album could be expected as soon as late April or early May.
Despite these reports, it is not yet announced if there will be a single release prior to the album release, and if so, what the timeline for that will be. However, Styles will also be busy in the spring promoting his film debut, Dunkirk, directed by Christopher Nolan, which will be released July 21.
Friends of Styles weigh in
A few days after BBC Radio 1 reported a spring release date, BBC Radio 1 Radio DJ and longtime friend to Styles, Nick Grimshaw, further confirmed that there is indeed an upcoming album, that is very close to being finished. Grimshaw, on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show, stated that Styles was meant to come over to his house to let him listen to the album, but was unable to make it.
However, Grimshaw still said of the upcoming album, "I think it will be good. He has good taste, and he likes Good Music, so that usually translates. He's into real music, so surely he'll make good music."
