"Game of Thrones" cast members are back filming the much-anticipated season 7 of the HBO TV series "Game of Thrones" after taking a short holiday break. Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, shared a clip of herself on her Instagram account and revealed her return to production after the holiday season. "Game of Thrones” co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss previously confirmed that "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will only be composed of seven episodes, while Season 8 will only have six episodes -- much shorter than the standard 10 episode season.
Iain Glen, who plays the character of Ser Jorah Mormont, explained to RadioTimes the reason for having fewer episodes in the series. According to him, “They are taking the length of time it takes to shoot ten episodes to shoot just seven this year and six next year. There are fifteen more hours left in Thrones as we understand it, but that may change, but that’s as far as we know. I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created, it’s just getting more and more extraordinary and they feel they need that time to shoot seven hours as opposed to ten."
In short, there is nothing to worry about. The showrunners and producers are just making sure that the show will end as impressively as possible.
