Here's the latest news on "Game of Thrones" season 7 cast: Tom Hopper will join the crew to portray Sam Tarly's brother, Dickon Tarly, who was portrayed in the previous season by Freddie Stroma. Along with the other newcomers, we will also see Philip O'Sullivan, who appeared in "Vikings", "The Tudors" and "Albert Nobbs".

Freddie Stroma will be replaced by Tom Hopper

Freddie Stroma stated that his involvement in the next season of "Time after time" will prevent him from portraying Dickon Tarly again in "Game of Thrones". According to the rumours Dickon and his father Randyll will have a larger amount of screen time in "GOT" season 7.

The one who is going to replace Stroma, according to what Watchers on the Wall reported, is very likely to be Tom Hopper, the English actor best known for his roles as William "Billy Bones" Manderly in "Black Sails" and Sir Percival in "Merlin".

New characters in season 7: Philip O'Sullivan as a Citadel maester

Philip O'Sullivan will play a Citadel maester in "GOT" season 7 (we are likely to see him interacting with Samwell Tarly in Oldtown). "Vikings"' fans will immediately recognize him for his performance as Bishop Edmund, a character which appeared in 18 different episodes from 2014 to 2016, in a lot of scenes set up in in the old Wessex. Paul Ward, who also made a brief appearance in "Vikings", will play a to-be-announced role in the seventh season of the HBO's tv series.

Jim Broadbent and Conor McGregor

The new guest starring cast list for season 7 also features Jim Broadbent (Horace Slughorn in the "Harry Potter" film series, "Iris", "The Chronicles of Narnia", "Moulin Rouge", "Hot Fuzz") who will play an unknown but "significant" character, and the popular Irish mixed martial artist Conor McGregor, who will portray a pirate of the Silence (Euron Greyjoy's ironborn longship) in the upcoming "Game of Thrones" season. The next season of "GOT", which will consist of mere 7 episodes, will air on HBO in Summer 2017, possibly at the end of June.
