Fiat Chrysler announced on Sunday (8) the creation of 2,000 jobs in the United States, as President-elect Donald Trump publicly disapproves automakers vehicles manufacturing in Mexico.

The Italian-American group will invest US$1 billion over the next three years at two of its factories in Michigan and Ohio, where new jobs will be created, according to a statement released by the company.

FCA has also announced three new products for the Jeep brand. The Wagonner and Grand Wagoneer will be produced at Warren, Michigan, while an unpublished pickup will be made in Toledo, Ohio.

Vehicles should be launched by 2020.

"FCA USA shows its commitment to strengthening its manufacturing base in the United States," the statement said. Jeep confirms Grand Wagoneer (and Wagoneer) officially. FCA confirmed on Sunday (8) that it will invest US $ 1 billion in two of its US plants. And it also ended the rumors about the Grand Wagoneer: it will actually be manufactured, alongside Wagoneer, at the Warren plant in Michigan.

In a clear demonstration that it feels the political moment in the USA, the FCA states that the investment will create "2,000 new American jobs". Maybe so she escapes from Donald Trump's fury on Twitter.

A sign of this is that investments in the Michigan factory will allow the production of RAM Heavy Duty, currently made in Mexico.

Whether or not this threatens the production of the truck in the neighbor who speaks Spanish is something we will only know later.

2018 Jeep Wrangler pickup truck officially

In addition to the Warren factory, FCA will also place money in Toledo, Ohio, where the Wrangler is made. The company says it will make a new Jeep pickup.

To a good connoisseur, half a word is enough: the company is talking about the new Wrangler pickup, which starts to be produced later this year.

Historically, the name Wagoneer represents the ultimate luxury in the Jeep universe, but with different levels of refinement. With that in mind, you can imagine that the Wagoneer will be a truly premium vehicle and the Grand Wagoneer will take you to an even higher level with regard to luxury. That would be how I would position these models in our line,
