Death is close at hand for the “blindspot” crew. Jane (Jamie Alexander) and Weller’s (Sullivan Stapleton) FBI team is off-kilter, there are no two ways around it. Every time the ground seems to settle beneath their feet, a veritable Sandstorm of revelations buffets from all sides, leaving our heroes seeking a new status quo. An upcoming death will do little to assuage the situation.

Death pays a visit to ‘Blindspot’

Weller and co. opened season 2 in mourning for Mayfair (Marianne Jean-Baptiste), and there is every indication that wave of lamentation will strike once more in episode 16.

"There is a very shocking death that's coming up that I just read last week that I didn't know was going to happen," Alexander told TV Guide. "It's very sad."

So, who’s next on the “Blindspot” writers’ hit list? Rest assured the series’ tag-team leads are undoubtedly safe and sound -- all Weller and Jane have to fear is emotional turmoil. It’s their friends and loved ones we really have to worry about.

Will the Grimm Reaper come for Patterson (Ashley Johnson), a woman’s whose intellect is unparalleled? For Borden (Ukweli Roach), a man who has slipped into the shadows? Roman (Luke Mitchell), who can’t seem to find purchase in his new life? Or perhaps for Nas (Archie Panjabi), now that she’s facing criticism on all fronts?

The list goes on and on, from key players to background characters whose untimely passing would mar our heroes like an open wound. For now, however, there are still three episodes to go before we get the answers we’re looking for.

What’s next on ‘Blindspot’?

When “Blindspot” hits the air this Wednesday, Weller will be ready to connect the dots.

His past is somehow inextricably linked to that of Sheppard (Michelle Hurd), and “Name Not One Man” will weave those disparate threads into a coherent narrative.

“The team gets a major break in the Sandstorm case when they discover Shepherd's true identity...and a decades-old connection between her and Weller,” NBC teased.
