Recently Butch Hartman, creator of Nickelodeon animated shows such as The Fairly Oddparents, T.U.F.F Puppy, and Danny Phantom, just released a YouTube video that is causing many longtime fans to go crazy with joy. In the YouTube video, Hartman draws the three most important characters, Danny, Sam, and Tucker of his show Danny Phantom. What's special about this video is that the characters are drawn to look ten years older than last seen.

Why Fans are Excited

Danny Phantomwas a critically and acclaimed audience success when it aired on the Nickelodeon television network.

Even Hartman said that the series was his probably his most popular and acclimated work. Now that things from people's past are being rebooted or brought back into the media, don't you think it's time that this show gets brought back as well?

At the end of the video, Butch Hartman's last line was "...who knows? You might just actually see that animated someday." Danny Phantom deserves to come back to television because it was and probably is better than most animated shows on television today. The show had good artwork, great jokes, relatable characters, and an interesting narrative.

Fans of the show loved the comic book style themes and storylines that came from the show. They didn't have to repeat the moral of each episode at the end.

The show could relate to any kid that watched the show. The show could be watched by a fan of any age. No one could really outgrow the show.

The Future of Danny Phantom

I probably speak for a lot of fans when I say I would love to see a new animated series based on Danny Phantom: 10 years later. The character designs look astounding and in the right hands, the show itself would be a huge hit for Nickelodeon.

A lot of things from people's childhoods are being rebooted for the big or small screen.

A good example would be Samurai Jack. Samurai Jack was a show that originally aired on Cartoon Network, and has now been acquired by Adult Swim for the 5th season. Why should Danny Phantom be any different?

A new series based on Danny Phantom: 10 years later could work because not only do fans want to see how the characters have grown since the last episode, but they also want to see what new challenges await them.

The thrill of the show was not only the heroes but also the villains he faced and how threatening they were.

Seeing all new villains and some classic villains with more skills, powers, or gadgets would be an experience that no fan would pass up. Nickelodeon or Nicktoons Network should use this opportunity to bring back the show for both old and new fans to enjoy.
