News broke Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt after two years of marriage due to irreconcilable differences. Court document say the pair have separated on 15 September. Angelina wants physical custody of the kids and asking the court to grant Brad visitation rights only.
Children’s well-being
A statement was put out byBrad Pitt saying that he is very sadden by the situation, but all that matters is the well-being of their kids. He asked that the press give them the space during this difficult time.Angelina too only thinks about the well-being of the children and that she appreciates everyone’s understanding for their need for privacy at this time.
Mr & Mrs Smith
Angelina and Brad’s relationship all started during the time of co-starring in the 2005 movie "Mr & Mrs Smith." Then, Brad was still married to actress Jennifer Aniston which drew a whole speculating of Brad cheating on Jennifer at the time with Angelina. In 2005 Brad and Jennifer announced they were filing for divorce.
Adopted and biological kids
In 2002 Angelina adopted son Maddox from an orphanage in Cambodia. Later, 2006, daughter Zahara was adopted from an orphanage in Ethiopia and shortly after Brad and Angelina announced their first biological pregnancy, daughter Shiloh Nouvel. They flew to Swakopmund, Namibia to give birth to Shiloh to avoid the media frenzy. In 2007 Angelina adopted son Pax Thien in Vietnam.
And in 2008 at the Canne Film Festival Angelina confirmed her pregnancy with twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. They were born on 12 July 2008.
Double Mastectomy
In 2013 Angelina underwent a preventive double mastectomy after learning she had an 87% risk of developing breast cancer due to defective BRCA1 gene. After completing each operation, Jolie discussed her mastectomy and ophorectomy in op-eds published by The New York Times, with the aim of helping other women make informed health choices.
Angelina also added that she does not feel any less than a woman. She felt empowered and made a strong choice that did not diminish her femininity.
Giving pair
Both Brad and Angelina are partners in giving. Brad having worked for years on helping rebuildNew Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Angelina is a United Nations special envoy for refugees.
