Better call saulseason 3 is about to start, and as the show’s showrunners graced its panel at Deadline’s The Contenders Emmys, there is a big surprise that’s seen. Aside from the executive producer Peter Gould, stars like Giancarlo Esposito, Jonathan Banks and Rhea Seehorn, Bryan Cranston surprisingly arrived at the event.

“I just couldn’t help myself,” the original “Breaking Bad” lead star said. Although it looked like the 61-year-old actor only passed by, some can’t help but think if he has a connection with the upcoming television series.

Gus Fring

“Better Call Saul” Season 3 will be featuring the return of Gustavo Fring (Esposito), the fast-food owner and meth dealer at the same time from “Breaking Bad.” At the event, the 58-year-old actor described that he would be back on the screen, but in a different way.

He also explained that fans are about to see the different side of his character that they have never seen before. “The subtle difference is I want to be the Gus that’s younger, vulnerable … and finding the way to being the kingpin that you meet in ‘Breaking Bad,’” he said.

Mike Ehrmantraut

Banks, on the other hand, also talked about his character as Mike Ehrmatraut in the next third chapter of the spinoff. The “48 Hours” actor described that he has been playing his role just like the same for a long time now.

Although he is not the “right-hand man to a drug lord,” he has been staying in the dark for quite awhile. He revealed that there is a lot going on on his character's narrative; thus he might just end up doing a backstory of his role until it ends.

Kim Wexler

Esposito and Banks’ characters have been known since “Breaking Bad” days, but Seehorn’s role as Kim Wexler remains under wraps.

The “Whitney” actress teased that it is much exciting if they remain her character as a mystery that also gives her freedom to play her role well. It is, too, unknown if her character already existed during the original series aired. However, she explained that it is a different responsibility for her to play her role at this moment.

Plotline

Meanwhile, at the panel, Gould was asked if “Better Call Saul” Season 3 already has a plan for the show’s future. The executive producer explained that he has no plans for the series as the only they are holding is what they are explaining to their viewers. In fact, they are also not sure where it is heading and what is going to happen next. Thus, they are expecting that they will be all surprised with how it will come out as well as the audience.
