Brock Lesnar and Goldberg have been at odds with each other in the WWE ever since "Summerslam" when the latter shockingly returned to put an end to Brock Lesnar’s dominant streak that started when the Beast Incarnate ended the Undertaker’s "Wrestlemania" undefeated streak. Even more shocking was the fact that Goldberg would beat the proprietor of Suplex City convincingly and in a matter of minutes.
This was a result that stunned the WWE Universe and even managed to stun Lesnar’s mouthpiece, Paul Heyman.
Brock Lesnar challenges Goldberg to a match at 'Wrestlemania 33' after the 'Royal Rumble'
Then, everyone thought that Brock Lesnar would get his revenge against Goldberg at this year’s "Royal Rumble," an event both men had been entered into. However, Goldberg once again completely stunned Lesnar by spearing him and eliminating him within seconds of Lesnar stepping into the ring.
This would ultimately lead to Brock Lesnar’s frustrations bubbling over as he would challenge Goldberg to a rematch at "Wrestlemania 33," where he would attempt to finally get one over on the guy that has bested him for months.
It’s a classic unstoppable force vs. immovable object bout that has been given months of build-up, and is one of the more hotly anticipated match-ups on this year’s "Wrestlemania" card.
Goldberg rumoured to win the WWE Universal Title
However, recent rumors have suggested that the build-up of animosity between the two men isn’t enough to justify their fight, and that the WWE Universal Title will be on the line as well. Now, currently, neither Brock Lesnar, nor Goldberg are the WWE Universal Champions. No, that honor falls to Kevin Owens, although, if the rumours are true, he’ll be losing the title to Goldberg at WWE "Fastlane," which will then lead to Goldberg putting the title on the line against Lesnar.
Personally, this is the last thing that the WWE should do. There’s already enough of a storyline between the two big men that throwing a title belt in the middle of them won’t enhance or add to the storyline, but it will subtract some of the possible prestige that another match at "Wrestlemania" could have.
Why the WWE Universal Title should be in a different match
For example, fans have been waiting for "best friends" Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens to break up their alliance and start feuding, and "Wrestlemania" is the perfect stage for them to do so. A potential Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho match with the WWE Universal Title on the line could steal the show, but it loses some of its allure without that title.
What do you think? Should Goldberg vs. Lesnar at "Wrestlemania 33" be a title match?
