Donald Trump ordered a precision attack against strategic chemical research centers in Syria. The attacks were carried out in conjunction with allies Great Britain and France. The bombing occurred on the city of Damascus.

During the coverage of the bombings, there were clear blasts and booms in the distance. In some of the footage, you could hear the air raid sirens warning citizens of the impending attack. Damacus power was lost during the raids in which there were an estimated hundred bombs dropped on the city.

World War III

Ever since Syria attacked Douma using chemical weapons, most media outlets were claiming World War III was possible if the United States attacked Syria. A retaliatory strike against Syria would band the enemies of the United States together. Trump received the proof he needed that stated Syria used chemical weapons and authorized the attack on Syria.

Around nine o'clock Trump announced that he had authorized an attack on Syria in response to the Chemical Attack in the city of Douma.

They specifically targeted three areas. Those areas were a research, chemical weapons storage facility and command post. Syria did respond with ground to air missiles in response to the attack on their capital city. They are claiming they shot down a total of thirteen missiles fired upon their city.

Trump's announcement included a direct message to both Iran and Russia. According to NBC News website, Trump asked, “What kind of a nation wants to be associated with the mass murder of innocent men and women and children?” Both Iran and Russia are close allies to Syria.

Donald Trump

Russian has been supporting Syria on the ground during their Civil War.

Russia has already come out, stating this was an insult to Vladimir Putin. According to The Sun Website, the Russian Ambassador reacted on Twitter stating, “Insulting the President of Russia is unacceptable and inadmissible. The US – the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons – has no moral right to blame other countries.” Bold words from a country that said earlier in the week that they do not govern by social media.

Sounds like they are now employing social media to mount a counter-attack.

Earlier he also tweeted, according to The Sun website, “A pre-designed scenario is being implemented again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences.” Once again through social media and not via press conference or another forum. They also threatened earlier in the week that they would shoot down any missiles fired at Syria.

There was not one report of Russian casualties or retaliation during the attack. Syria was the one who responded. Interesting that they threatened earlier in the week about shooting down any missiles during an attack, but none was taken. Their only attack was after the bombing via social media which they stated earlier they do not use to govern.

Russia's response

Russia will not respond against the United States of America causing World War III.

Their statements after the attack on Damascus were to state their displeasure. They were not even in the area when the bombing took place or they would have fired their missiles.

Russia is stating their displeasure through social media. This is not the way Russia governs and they have stated that in the past. All of sudden they are using social media to respond to the United States. The United States just attacked one of their allies and it was not suspected, because we announced our intention to attack Syria.

Their response would have been immediate. This is their ally and they have been fighting for and supporting the Syrian regime. They have troops and other equipment in the area so there is no need to move into the area to counterattack, they are already there. Russia will not start World War III and the Syrian government after this latest attack, will hopefully discontinue their use of chemical weapons.
