On Sunday, the LA Times and the Clarion Project reported that the FBI thwarted a terrorist attack on San Francisco's Pier 39 on Christmas Day. The accused, Everitt Aaron Jameson, a former U.S. Marine, who made Islam his religion of choice, was planning to carry out his suicide Terror Attack by the urging of ISIS, based on their latest radical propaganda to their terrorist supporters in the United States and elsewhere.
Who is Jameson?
Reports say that Jameson was employed as a tow-truck driver and went by the name, Abdallah Abu Everitt ibn Gordon al-Amriki. While he served as a U.S. Marine, he was trained as an expert marksman but was subsequently released from service for neglecting to disclose his asthmatic medical condition. Law enforcement had initiated surveillance after receiving a tip from an informer who informed the FBI office in San Francisco that Jameson loved and followed pro-ISIS propaganda, and pro-terrorism topics on Facebook and that he appeared to have been planning some terrorist attack.
The FBI released an affidavit on Friday, and it stated in part:
“He had been there to Pier 39 and knew that it was a deeply congested area and that he explained to them that he was going to use explosives.
He described his plan in detail in which he knew that explosives being set off would force citizens into a particular location, which was the San Francisco Bay area, and he knew it would inflict mass fatalities, which was part of his plan.”
Jameson’s plan
Jameson planned to commit mass terror and chaos and shoot numerous victims and continue to do so until law enforcement or someone else had to kill him. The LA Times and the Clarion Project stated that Jameson tried to acquire from an undercover FBI agent, which he had thought was a high-level ISIS terrorist, weapons, and bomb-making material.
When the FBI searched his San Francisco home, along with finding weapons and ammunition, they found a note signed by him, that stated, “I Abdallah Abu Everitt ibn Gordon have committed these acts upon the “non-Muslims,” in the name of Allahu Akbar!" Jameson then went after President Trump and accused Trump of giving away Jerusalem to the Jews, said it was wrong, and that Jerusalem belonged to the Muslims, not the Jews.
He ended his note by saying that he was promoting ISIS in all its glory.
After his arrest, the FBI stated that his charges include the attempt to provide material assistance to the well-known terrorist organization, ISIL also known as, ISIS. If he is found guilty, without any further charges added, he would be facing up to 20 years in federal prison. As of Sunday, FBI spokesperson, Katherine Zackel, stated that there are no other terror threats that they know of known in San Francisco Bay area at this time. The mayor further stated that there would be an increased presence of law enforcement in the area while the FBI continues to investigate if any other threats are known or suspected.
