Donald Trump's ex-wife Ivana has been on the road to promote her new book titled "Raising Trump" where she takes full credit for raising their three children. After making controversial remarks about First Lady Melania Trump during a recent interview, Ivana Trump received backlash from the White House.

Melania on Ivana

While Donald Trump is currently married to his wife Melania, the president had been previously been married on two different occasions. Trump's first marriage was to Ivana Zelnickova back in April 1977 which lasted until their divorce was finalized in 1992.

Just a year later and the former host of "The Apprentice" went on to marry Marla Maples, before getting another divorce in 1999. However, It's been Ivana who has been the most vocal, which has only increased since the promotion of her new book, which is set to be released this week. The book takes the reader on a journey of her life starting with living under Communism in what was then known as Czechoslovakia, all the way through her time being married to Trump. Ivana is the mother of three of the president's children, Ivanka, Eric, and Donald Jr. As reported by NBC News on October 9, Melania wasn't pleased with the recent criticism from her husband's ex-wife.

In a recent interview with Amy Robach of ABC News, Ivana Trump detailed her current relationship with Donald as it pertains to their children and the first lady.

Ivana noted that she speaks to the president every other week, but explained that she doesn't like to call the White House and risk creating drama with Melania. "I don't want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that, because I'm basically first Trump wife," Ivana said before adding, "OK? I'm first lady."

Melania responds

In responds to the remarks made by Ivana, Melania Trump released a scathing statement that was sent by office of the first lady.

"(Melania) plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books," the statement read. "There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex," the statement continued, before adding, "Unfortunately only attention-seeking and self-serving noise." While usually one to keep quiet on personal issues, it appears the recent comments from Ivana pushed Melania to make a public rebuttal.
