Another teacher is accused of having sexual intercourse with a student, and this time it involves a Substitute Teacher from Missouri. The teacher is 24 years old while the High School Student is 17.
The former substitute teacher is identified as Loryn M. Barclay. She faces two counts of sexual contact with a student. The 17-year-old told investigators that they had sexual intercourse from November to January this year while she taught as a substitute teacher at Monett High School.
Details on the contacts revealed
Barclay herself acknowledged that she had an inappropriate relationship with the teenager during the tenure of her employment.
According to Heavy, they had intercourse at a park and at the home of the student. She also reportedly told investigators that she performed oral sex on the teen inside a car at a park. The two had sexual intercourse at two different counties, one in Lawrence County and the other in Barry County, where the boy lives.
Police say they had contacted three times. The probe on Barclay started months ago after a tipster revealed information he or she knew. It is unclear why such information was made public just now. She was arrested on Sunday evening. She was no longer with Monett High School as she was removed from her post after the tipster came forward.
Accused posts bail
Barclay posted a $25,000 bail for Lawrence County to get out of jail.
She will appear in court this July 24. Her bond for Barry County is at $10,000. There is no court date yet set for her appearance in Barry County. There are no other students believed to have been involved with Barclay.
It is unknown if Barclay had other run-ins with the law in the past. She also worked as a horse riding instructor per her Twitter account, and there have been no reported incidents that she had improper relationships with her students there.
Barclay is the latest of the number of teachers who were accused of having sexual relationships with their students all over the United States. Some of these teachers even got impregnated by the students.
Male Missouri teacher also admitted having sex with student
Another case of sexual intercourse with a student in Missouri was reported earlier this month.
The male teacher, identified as Calvin Thomas Jr., pleaded guilty to having sexual contact with a student. He will serve five years of supervised probation, Missourian reported.
He worked at Hollister High School. The victim is a 16-year-old girl. He and the girl reportedly had intercourse twice at his home.
