Johnny Galecki's residence burned down in a fire last Monday night. The star of the very popular sitcom 'The Big Bang Theory' was perfectly safe, but his house in San Luis Obispo County was significantly devastated.
Johnny Galecki was not in the area and was fortunately unharmed
San Luis Obispo is a rural area that's situated somewhere between Los Angeles and San Francisco. According to a report by Variety, the huge fire spanned up to 1,200 acres which burned down numerous properties, including Galecki's ranch house. Fortunately, the actor was not at the property at the time and was, thus, unharmed.
Representatives for Galecki say that the actor has yet to see the extent of the damage, but is planning to go the area and check it out as soon as the fire poses no more threat.
At the time of the Variety publication, it has been confirmed that 40% of the fire has already been contained. Galecki issued an encouraging statement for the people of the county and claims that no one was harmed.
Galecki gives an encouraging message for the community
In his statement, Galecki said that one thing the people of Santa Margarita taught him is how to reach out and rebuild once the calamity has passed. He admitted that he knows they live under this constant threat of flash fire because of the area, but that they choose to stay because the beautiful, rural location is "worth it." It would not be surprising if the people of Santa Margarita, San Luis Obispo made the area beautiful again.
He is also confident in the people of the county saying that, when the fire is completely contained, the community will ultimately start rebuilding because they have "done it before." He believes that the people will be made stronger because of the calamity.
He also expressed his "endless" gratitude to the Sheriff's Office and Cal Fire (California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection) for "fighting the good fight" to keep citizens safe.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times reports that there is a mandatory evacuation order in the county of San Luis Obispo. More than 1,200 firefighters have been reported to respond to the situation. The actual cause of the fire, however, is still under investigation.
