Nintendo has made quite a big comeback into the video game market with a slew of new products that have generated exorbitant amounts of revenue for the company. Despite not being able to keep up with the demand for its NES Classic and Nintendo Switch gaming consoles, the company still continues its barrage of marketing efforts to convince consumers to buy their products. Now, the company has launched a new partnership with McDonald's that will bring to life some of the company's most beloved characters.
'Mario' Happy Meal toys
The latest partnership with fast food giant includes the launch of eight new "Mario" toys that will be included in every Happy Meal.
The new toys will become available on all McDonald's outlets starting today until May 22. The eight toys that are being launched includes Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Yoshi, Princess Peach, a Red Koopa Shell, Invincible Mario, and a 1-up Mushroom.
Special abilities
Each Happy Meal toy will have its own special function. Luigi will have his own launcher, where he can be fired out from. Princess Peach spins around when the toy is pushed forward. Invincible Mario, on the other hand, lights up in different colors. The 1-up Mushroom plays signature "Mario" sounds, which is also similar to what the Mario toy does. Bowser can shoot "Fire" projectiles from his mouth, while Yoshi can stick his tongue out when his back is pressed.
Finally, the Red Koopa Shell has pullback wheels on it, which allows it to roll around.
Special Nintendo Switch sweepstakes
Aside from launching the new Happy Meal toys, Nintendo and McDonalds are also giving customers the chance to win a new Nintendo Switch console via a new sweepstakes promo. A total of 100 Nintendo Switch Prize Packs will be given away during the raffle.
Each package contains a new Nintendo Switch console as well as a free copy of Nintendo's upcoming racing game, "Mario Kart 8 Deluxe."
To enter the contest, customers will simply need to scan and purchase any meal using the official McDonald's mobile app within the Happy Meal's promo period. Additional entries can also be won via extra deals that are offered within the app.
Two entries are awarded for those who will be purchasing an actual Happy Meal with the new "Mario" toys.
With the Nintendo Switch console currently out of stock in several areas across the country, customers will likely be flocking to the fast-food chain's outlets to get their hands on the new Happy Meal. Aside from getting a new toy, having the chance to win a Switch for free makes it quite a hard deal to pass up.
