U.S. President Donald Trump has been waging a lonely battle against Fake News. He questions the credibility of the main news networks like CNN whom the billionaire had accused of spreading the spurious news.
However, the president himself appears to have been victimized by “fake news,” while an elderly man was given a fake news for him to die peacefully. Time reported that a 75-year-old Oregon man suffering from poor health died peacefully after his former wife told Michael Garland Elliott that Trump was impeached.
Two victims, one subject
Elliott has been sick over the years.
On April 6, Teresa Elliott, his former wife, and best friend, according to the obituary, told Michael that Trump was impeached. The news was music to the ears of the septuagenarian. The obituary in the Oregonian read: “And the last thing she said to him was ‘Donald Trump has been impeached. Upon hearing that he took his final, gentle breath, his earthly work concluded.”
Meanwhile, Trump fell for the prank by Michael Knowles, a conservative editor, who said his book “Reasons to Vote for Democrats,” was a gag. He explained to Fox News that for the past decade, Knowles had been observing the record of the Democratic Party and reasons to vote for the political party’s candidates.
Blank pages, blank mind?
Based on the party’s economics, foreign policy, homeland security, and civil rights record, “I realized it was probably best to just leave all the pages blank," Knowles explained. However, Trump, who was unaware that the Amazon bestselling author was just pulling his leg, tweeted on Easter Monday, “A great book for your reading enjoyment: ‘Reasons to Vote for Democrats’ by Michael J.
Knowles.” The book, despite its blank pages, sells for $9.99 on Amazon for the paperback edition and $8.99 at Barnes and Noble.
Anti-Trump groups, whether in the U.S. or overseas, would likely cite the tweet as proof of the American president’s incompetency as chief executive of the United States. ISIS actually went ahead and warned Americans that their country is being run by an idiot.
Senior moments, fake boasts
But Trump is not the only world leader being derided for his lapses such as telling Chinese President Xi Jinping that he ordered the bombing of Iraq and not Syria while eating “the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake.”
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is now the butt of international jokes after Pyongyang boasted during the “Day of the Sun” celebration of the communist country’s capability to launch a nuclear attack on the U.S. using it intercontinental ballistic missile which fizzled out five seconds after it was fired the next day. Other than the failed missile launch, Chinese netizens call the dictator “fat,” while U.S. Senator John McCain went one step further and called the leader “crazy fat kid.”
