A lot of people in America get plastic surgery and the process turns out successful. The client is usually interested and the doctor is required to be licensed. However, on Monday, a judge in Fort Lauderdale, FL placed a ten-year Prison Sentence on 36-year-old Oneal Ron Morris. She has been convicted of performing illegal butt enhancements and injecting people with toxic chemicals. For more than five years, there were reports on Morris and her malicious acts. They even made headlines when images surfaced of women being abnormally large and misshapen.
Last month, she was indicted on manslaughter and illegally practicing medicine without a license. She pleaded no contest to both charges from back in 2012. The prison sentence comes because of her manslaughter conviction stemming from the death of one of her clients, Shatarka Nuby.
Client reported complications before her death
Nuby told police that she paid Oneal Ron Morris $2000 for enhancements to several parts of her body between 2007 and 2010. Shortly after Morris illegally performed the cosmetic procedures, Nuby claimed she had hardening and discoloration at several injection sites. A witness even claimed that the unlicensed physician used super glue to attach cotton balls to the woman's injection sites.
Sherri Pitts, Nuby’s mother, told CBS Miami, “My daughter died the most inhumane death. Eighteen months she suffered not knowing the full of what he put in her body. The doctors couldn’t do anything until they knew what portion they put in her body.”
Morris to serve time and probation
Morris has denied any acts of intentional wrongdoing.
However, Defense attorney William Lanphear believes she knew what she was doing because she was performing medical procedures as an unlicensed medical professional.
In a statement before the Broward County court, Morris told the judge, “I have never ever or would dare ever inject or have injected any human with any type of unknown substance.”
Laphner said in rebuttal, “All parties share the responsibilities and the blame for their own actions and the role they played.
There was an assumption of risk obligation from the victims.”
The attorney for Morris opposes the conviction because he claims that clients were aware of receiving their services and treatments from an unlicensed physician.
Oneal Ron Morris, a transgender woman better known as the "Toxic Tush Doctor," has botched a procedure causing death and will serve ten years in prison for the fatality of her patient. The conviction also includes a five-year probation sentence following a year in custody Morris has already served for practicing medicine while being unlicensed. Though transgender, Morris will conduct her prison sentence in an all-male facility.
