The early days of the Donald Trump administration have been criticized by most in the mainstream media. With the president being in the White House for less than two months, one host on MSNBC has decided to throw in the towel.

MSNBC on Trump

When Donald Trump first announced that he was going to run for president back in June 2015, most of the media and the American people didn't see it as much more than a joke. As Trump gained steam, the joke quickly became reality. The former host of "The Apprentice" went on to win the Republican primary, and then shocked the world with his upset victory over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

In the time between Election Day and Inauguration Day, many asked to give Trump a chance with at least cautious optimism. Fast forward to present day and Trump's policy proposals, Twitter rants, and controversial executive orders have led to even more backlash. As reported by Mediaite on March 6, the MSNBC hosts on "Morning Joe" have had enough.

"We are all scared," MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said on Monday morning, before adding, "I think we reached a new low this weekend." When Scarborough asked the opinion of his co-host, Mika Brzezinski, she didn't hold back her thoughts on Donald Trump and his time in office.

"I had hope and an open mind," Mika Brzezinski said, but noted, "I have lost hope completely and my mind is closed." Not stopping there, Brzezinski concluded, "This presidency is fake and failed." Brzezinski's comments come after she went off on Donald Trump over the weekend, taking to her Twitter account to rip into the president for his claim that former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the election.

In addition, Joe Scarborough also doubled down on the criticism, tweeting on multiple occasions about his current opposition to the billionaire real estate mogul.

Moving forward

Despite not providing any evidence to back up his allegation, Donald Trump, his administration, and many in the right-wing media are backing the claim that Barack Obama took part in an illegal wiretapping scheme. While only time will tell if Trump is correct on the issue, the wide divide between the political left and right has only continued to grow.
