A man was arrested in connection with the shooting of his wife. He is now facing murder charges. The incident occurred in an Ingles Grocery Store parking lot. The man, 50-year-old Darrin Russell, was arrested and taken to Barrow County Jail for the fatal shooting of 51-year-old Dorothy Russell. The incident occurred on Saturday. It happened in the late afternoon in Auburn, Georgia.

Domestic disturbance call

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said they received a 911 call. The call came from inside Ingles, and it was in regard to a domestic disturbance.

Officers rushed to the scene and when they arrived, they found Mrs. Russell Shot To Death in a car.

Shoppers at Ingles witnessed the event unfold. When Russell shot his wife, onlookers were left shocked. The town is small, and they didn't think something like this could happen there. One witness said the incident was horrible and if it could happen going to a grocery store in Small Town USA, then it can happen anywhere.

Fled in a Mercedes

After shooting his wife, Russell took off in a Mercedes, according to the GBI. However, authorities managed to catch him about 45 minutes later. They took Russell to jail, where he remains on one count of murder. As of now, it's not clear if he has an attorney.

There was also a shooting at an Aldi grocery store

In a different incident, a fatal shooting took place at an Aldi grocery store in St. Louis. In that shooting, a security guard and unidentified suspect were involved. It occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday after a shoplifting suspect confronted a security guard. The suspect showed the Aldi security guard a firearm and pointed it in their direction.

That's when the security guard moved away, but the suspect continued to approach him. It was then that the security guard shot his firearm and killed the suspect. The security guard shot at the suspect several times. Three of those shots struck him. It's not known if the security guard was injured, but the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
