President Donald Trump won't be hanging around the White House this weekend. Just two weeks after he was sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, he'll be jetting off to Florida for a little getaway. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Trump will arrive in Palm Beach on Friday, February 3 and will stay at his Mar-A-Lago Club, a resort that he refers to as his "Winter White House," until Monday, February 6.
Clearly signing all of those executive orders during the first ten days of his presidency has taken its toll on Trump.
After all, it's not the norm for a new president to take a vacation so soon, especially Trump who promised during his campaign that he would take very little time off.
A little R&R for the POTUS
GroopSpeak reports Trump is heading to Florida for some "much-needed relaxation time and good weather." The forecast indicates that it will be sunny and in the 80s in Palm Beach this weekend — perfect weather for a few rounds of golf and a little socializing.
According to the Palm Beach Post, President Trump will be partying with some "other Washington big-shots" at the 60th annual Red Cross Ball on Saturday night. However, he won't have to travel far to get to the event — it's being held at the Mar-A-Lago Club.
Palm Beach no-fly zone
There's snow on the ground in D.C., so a weekend getaway to somewhere sunny and warm certainly sounds great, but it's not going to be a good time for anyone who is in the Palm Beach area.
The FAA's report indicates that there will be flight restrictions in place the entire time Trump is in Florida, including a no-fly zone over the resort and what's being described as a near shutdown of the Lantana airport.
And that's not all — there will be road closures and heightened security in the area in and around Mar-A-Lago and it's possible that the Coast Guard could restrict access to the waters surrounding the resort.
Are you surprised that President Trump is taking a vacation just 14 days after his inauguration?
