A Twitter user on August 21, 2017, leaked out information on the possible design of a new Adidas runner set for release next year. According to Yeezy Mafia, the model will be named “Deerupt Runner.”
As the shoe company continues to expand the brand of its casual running footwear products, Adidas is expected to release a new set of lifestyle shoes in 2018. There is no official information on the designs and features of the shoes, but the Twitter user released some images of the rumored footwear item.
Yeezy Mafia tweeted that the new Adidas Deerupt Runner will be released on March 2018.
The rumored price is reportedly at $120 for each pair.
Shoe features
According to Sole Collector, the Adidas Deerupt Runner appeared to adapt some of the designs and features of the renowned NMD_R1 model, especially with regards to the shape. However, there were certain features that distinguished the upcoming running footwear.
First, the photos shared on Twitter showed the absence of the midsole blocks and pull tab. There were also no three-stripe branding located on the medial side or lateral side of the leaked colorway. The website also noted that there appeared to be no visible Boost cushioning. This feature has been seen in many of the shoe company’s newest releases.
Nevertheless, Sole Collector identified a striking feature that the Adidas Deerupt Runner had.
It included a white Dellinger web overlay crossed together over the entire shoe.
Adidas to stay dominant
Barron’s reported that Adidas will keep its dominance over the rest of the shoe brands, after seeing upward trends on its sales, market share and even on its online traffic. According to the report, other shoe brands such as Nike and Under Armour have been experiencing a decline in sales in the previous months.
Adidas garnered strong gains on sales in the United States, compared to the other brands. Analysts told Barron’s that there were several factors that led to this success. One of them was on the web traffic of the companies.
Analysts stated that Adidas is currently experiencing an increase in web traffic, while competitors such as Nike is slipping down.
There were also major changes in the market share, such as increased shares in some of its product categories, namely on premium footwear and running shoes. Sneaker outlets in various stores have been mentioning the brand more often than its competitors, the report further noted.
