The 2018 Toyota Camry is sporting a new look. The giant car manufacturer built it based on Toyota’s new global vehicle architecture. The ground elevation is a little bit lower and more compact than before. It is better balanced and has a sleek design. Driving has never been more fun and the safety features were upgraded for an improved driving dynamic.
JD Powers test drove the vehicle and in their review, they reported that the 2018 Toyota Camry has 3 available powertrains to choose from. The base car will be the L and LE models. If you want a more luxurious type, the company recommends the XLE model.
The SE and XSE models are the sports variants in the line-up. There will always be a car for every car enthusiast’s discriminating taste.
Three different engines
Each of the three new engines available is mated to its own transmission system. Buyers can choose based on their preference. All engine variants are guaranteed to produce the best result in terms of speed, mileage, and strength. Each variant has a distinct bumper and front grille set-up which will be the way consumers can distinguish them from each other.
The first choice of the 3 engines is the base 2.5 liter 203 HP, inline 4 engine. The power can increase to 206 HP because of the quad-exhaust system that was factory installed by the company.
It is mated to an eight-speed Automatic Transmission System for ease in shifting. Fuel efficiency is pegged around 32 miles per gallon when traveling in the city and on highways.
The second choice is the 3.5 liter, 301 HP, V6 engine which carries a 267 ft-lb of torque. Just like the V4 variant, it is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system.
It is going to give 26 miles per gallon for fuel efficiency. Packed with a higher HP and torque, it guarantees a stronger and faster performance when driven.
The last engine choice would be the hybrid variant. Toyota Motors used the two-motor system it introduced to the public when it launched the 2016 Prius. The company combined a 2.5 liter 176 HP engine with a powerful electric motor to power the car.
The Camry Hybrid allows the driver to drive via a six-simulated gear EC variable system. The Car Connection reported it could give you up to 52 miles per gallon when traveling within the city and on highways.
The latest Toyota Camry is not boring
The components of the 2018 Toyota Camry are all brand new. Nothing was brought in from the older models. The company used new interior design, new engines, and even the exterior design is brand new. It is the very first model to adapt the Toyota New Global Architecture (TGNA) platform. All new Toyota cars in the future will be designed on this platform.
