Area 31 restaurant, located on the 16th floor of the EPIC hotel, is launching the promotion Menu Trotting with Chef Wolfgang Birk. It is an economical menu offering at $55 per person (exclusive of tax and gratuity) with signature dishes highlighting regions such as Italy, The Basque Country, and Argentina, among others. An optional wine pairing will be available for an additional $20. It begins this Monday, March 27th and the series makes its first stop in Northern Italy. Chef Birk, when commenting about the promotion, said, "In my travels, I've had the opportunity to enjoy so many incredible meals.

I want to bring all these international flavors to my guests, at a reasonable price."

A delicious meal at an affordable price

For Miamians (who are also cooking fans), they have their own high-profile Chef in town with Chef Wolfgang Birk. Educated in the culinary arts in Pescana, Italy. He has "cut his teeth" in the most demanding restaurants all over the world and he is the creator of this promotion. The meal begins with an amuse-bouche of crispy oyster and a lemon verbena sabayon (sweet custard). The first course will be a venison Carpaccio accompanied with micro watercress, radish, and parmigiano reggiano cheese. Next is a scampi Carbonara with artichoke, saffron, rosemary, speck and stracci.

The third course presents monkfish (type of shark) stew with tomatoes, olives, potatoes and gigante beans. Finally, the dessert is a Rhubarb tart with Italian Meringue. Combine this with a prosecco from the region or a rose wine and the night will be complete.

Restaurant promotion helps avoid traffic

Area 31 restaurant gives a beautiful view of the Brickell Financial district and at sunset, the 16th floor gives a great vantage point to see the lights turn on and the cityscape turn from day to night.

The menu trotting series will take place during the last week of every month. At the end of April, the next trip will be to Basque Country in Spain, and the following, to Portugal. Into the summer (or winter depending on the hemisphere), there will be offerings from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Chile.
