Americans spend $450 million dollars a year on blue jeans. Now, a new documentary talks about how some fashionistas and fashion collectors are willing to spend up to $20,000 on blue jeans! Christian D. Bruun explores this, and more, in his new documentary called "Blue Gold: American Jeans."

Christian D. Bruun is an international film director/producer and curator with over 17 years of professional experience. He is an innovator in the fields of digital filmmaking, digital media, and architectural design.

His films have had international theatrical and television distribution and been in official selection at Sundance, Tribeca, and Berlin, Locarno film festivals. Christian has directed and produced national commercial campaigns and he recently produced the Danish Film Academy Award winning feature film, "The Man Who Saved the World."

Narrated by Edward Burns and featuring interviews with fashion icons & musicians such as Tommy Hilfiger, Isaac Mizrahi, Daymond John, Daryl Hall, Marky Ramone, Judy Collins, and the “Godfather of Jeans” & founder of Diesel Adriano Goldschmied – the documentary tells the history of demins in America – from the American West to the beginning of Levi Strauss, through the 70's designer jeans phenomenon and expansion across the world – as well as the cultural impacts they have had on rock & roll and hip hop.

This documentary also follow jeans hunter and vintage expert Eric Schrader as he travels globally showing why the pants formerly known as dungarees are the most desired and fetished piece of clothing around.

Bruun was pleased to announce that his documentary feature got a distribution deal through Gravitas Ventures, which will release the film on VOD, DVD and Blu Ray on April 4.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a human being who does not own a pair of jeans. Whether they own a pair of $20,000 jeans, however, remains to be seen. This is a documentary that will speak to almost everyone, no matter where they come from.
