The Epcot International Festival of the Arts kicked off on January 13, and Broadway stars John Strickland and Ashley Brown took to the America Gardens stage for the first night of a concert series that runs throughout the event. The duo sang songs from Disney shows like “The Little Mermaid” and “Mary Poppins,” then capped things off with a duet of “Let It Go” in honor of the fact that “Frozen” is set to hit the live stage soon.
See a full schedule of Broadway performers
Strickland, Brown, and other Broadway singers will appear throughout the festival, accompanied by a live band, three times each night from Friday through Monday, now through February 20th. Check the Walt Disney World website for the full schedule of which performers will appear on which nights, since it will rotate throughout the event.
The Broadway concerts are just one small part of the Epcot International Festival of the Arts, which showcases art in all of its forms. Performance art also gets a nod on the Fountain View Stage in Future World, where a cappella singers American Music Machine alternate with live musicians throughout the day.
When there’s no activity up on the stage, check in front for the three Living Statues that represent the spirit of Future World. They’re a great photo opportunity as they interact with guests in clever ways.
New acts for new Walt Disney World event
You’ll also witness a variety of entertainers as you wander around World Showcase. In addition to the usual acts, you’ll see others who have come to Epcot just for the festival in countries like Morocco and Canada. Grab a festival passport when you arrive at the park so you’ll be able to plan your day to full enjoy the newest special event at Walt Disney World.
Artistic entertainment options at Epcot
Entertainment isn’t limited to watching performances.
You’ll also get a chance to attend seminars on topics like drawing, cooking, and more, with different options throughout the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. Most of the activities, including the Broadway concerts, are part of your park admission, so the only limitation is how much you can pack into your visit.
