"Fortnite Battle Royale" players have received some unique limited-time game modes lately. Even the regular modes (solo, duos, and squads) have been drastically changed due to the 500 material cap and health/shield regeneration after eliminating an enemy. Epic Games will keep making changes to the popular video game and releasing interesting game modes that require a different playstyle.
The v7.40 patch, which was released on Thursday, February 14, has added many new things to "Fortnite Battle Royale." While players got a lot of new features in the game, the video game developer has also used this patch to add new game files to the game data.
These files have been recovered by data miners, and it turns out that Epic Games is going to release the Gun Game limited-time game mode soon! Many "Fortnite" players have been asking for this mode, and it will finally come out.
Gun Game LTM
The Gun Game mode is unique, and it will be interesting to see how it works in "Fortnite Battle Royale." This mode was first introduced with "Call of Duty: Black Ops" in 2010 and a lot of gamers like it. Epic Games will have to adjust this mode for "Fortnite" considering that it's a battle royale game, but there is no doubt that it will be very fun!
In this mode, players start with a pistol, and whenever they eliminate an enemy, they get a new weapon. The first player who gets to the last weapon and scores an elimination with it is a winner.
In "Fortnite Battle Royale," this mode most likely won't feature 99 players, and it will probably be played in a smaller area of the in-game island.
Dataminer FNInformation has recovered this mode in the game data, and it appears that the mode will keep its original name. "Earn eliminations to make your way through all of the weapons to the end!" will be its in-game description, but unfortunately Epic Games hasn't released any official info regarding this mode.
It is unknown when it will be released, but we can expect it to come out with the v7.40 content update, or at least before season 7 ends.
Upcoming update
"Fortnite Battle Royale" players will receive the v7.40 content update on Tuesday, February 19. This is going to be the last update in season 7, so we can expect Epic Games to make it big. According to the developer, the Driftboard will finally be released with this update, as well as its special limited-time game mode. The update will come out at 8 AM ET and will require no downtime.
