The summer can tend to be slow for gaming, but a lot of anticipated games are set to arrive in the following months for the PlayStation 4. Games such as "Spider-Man," "The Last of Us Part II," and "Ghost of Tsushima." These three games were at the center of Sony's E3 press conference back in June. There is a lot more to look forward to, as there will be a new member of the PlayStation family tree. A new limited edition console will be arriving to celebrate 500 million PlayStation 4 systems being sold. The new PS4 Pro will have some new specs and upgraded features to bring to the table.

A new member

Sony has been making PlayStation systems since 1994. Since then, the company has continued its success. The company recently crossed over 500 million consoles sold with its lineage of the PS2, PS3, and PSP contributing to the overall amount. An article by The Verge points out that it is "523.5 million, to be exact."

The new limited edition PS4 Pro will be in a blue color with a bronze symbol in the middle of the system. The limited edition console will be coming with a PlayStation Camera, as confirmed in the article. The PS4 Pro will come with a hefty price tag at $499.99.

Gamers will notice that it is $100 more than the original PS4 Pro, but this one does come with a camera, a vertical stand, and a better-looking system, along with a 2TB storage drive.

An article by Polygon states: "Only 50,000 will be produced." Gamers will have to act fast to get the limited edition console. Polygon also notes that when the console is turned on, the insides of the system can be seen, which is very cool and different.

More to look forward to

There is a lot to look forward to with the PlayStation 4, as it was announced that two more great games are arriving this month for free if you have a PSN live membership. That includes "Mafia 3" and "Dead by Daylight." The PS4 is still facing competition from other consoles, like the Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

There is a possibility that the next PlayStation console, which is the PS5, could arrive in the year 2020. The upcoming game, "Death Stranding," could be released on the PS5, along with it going to the PS4.
