"Fortnite Battle Royale" players can currently select to play either regular playlists or two limited-time game modes. Epic Games has been releasing these special game modes more often lately, and it seems that the development team is working on having at least one limited-time game mode available at any point. Additionally, the developer announced that there would be one big-team mode permanently available, either 50v50 or Teams of 20.

New game modes are becoming more popular in "Fortnite Battle Royale," which is why Epic Games is releasing more of them.

The latest data mined files revealed the presence of another limited-time game mode, and this mode will be unique. The mode is called Score Royale and unlike in classic battle royale modes, players won't have to survive until the end to win!

Score Royale mode

Score Royale mode was retrieved from game files that were added with a patch a few days ago. Considering that the game developer added them recently, we can expect the new "Fortnite Battle Royale" mode to be released either on the weekend or next week.

The special mode description states the following: “A brand new take on earning Victory Royale, this mode rewards players who like to explore and search for loot. Earn points by opening loot containers, using foraged items and eliminating other players.

The first player to pass the high score threshold wins!”

This description shows us that the mode will be nothing like the modes we've had in the game so far. Being a lone survivor at the end of the match is not the point of this limited-time game mode, but rather getting points for different activities in the game. Once you reach a certain score, you will be a winner.

"Fortnite Battle Royale" developer has talked about having a mode that allows players to respawn after dying, so this could be the first mode that has that feature. Additionally, there is a good chance that there will be no storm in Score Royale.

More competitive modes

Epic Games has recently announced that Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers would start this fall.

This means that "Fortnite" players will get new competitive modes soon, which will be a fantastic addition.

So far, there have been two competitive modes and both of them were for solo playlists. However, the game developer said that new modes would be focused on solo and duo playlists, but that players will also have plenty of squad competitive modes.
