Just days away from E3, a release date for the PS4 exclusive game "Days Gone" has been confirmed for early next year. Sony's press conference will be held on June 11 at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT in Los Angeles. Although there will most likely be no hardware announcements made, there will likely be some surprises in store.

A date

The exclusive is slated to come out on February 22, 2019, as indicated in a report by GameSpot. Along with the announcement, a trailer was released as well.

There has been a lot of hype surrounding the game, and, according to GameSpot, the game takes place in the pacific northwest.

Players assume the role of Deacon St. John, a former outlaw trying to survive.

Does the game have potential?

The video game does have a lot of potential, but it remains to be seen how the game will be different and how good the story will be. "Days Gone" does have a lot of questions that need to be answered.

The trailer showcases many different animals like wolves, cougars, and crows that attack the main character. Nothing seems to go right for St. John, and even his motorcycle breaks down toward the end of the trailer -- in the middle of nowhere. The sneak peek also shows the main character desperately fighting for survival, scavenging for supplies, attacking others, and traveling. Survival is the main objective of this game, and there are numerous threats that the main character must contend with.

The enemies move quickly and the player will have to fight more than just the infected, which includes different wild animals and people -- as seen in the trailer. It remains to be seen whether an extended look at the game will be revealed during Sony's E3 press conference.

Games galore for Sony

Along with this, another article by ScreenRant confirms that Sony plans to announce three new games ahead of E3.

According to the article, "Friday and Saturday will feature a new PS4 and PSVR release, and an anticipated VR game on Sunday." This is all being shown via a live stream that started on Wednesday.

Virtual reality is the future of gaming and Sony is taking full advantage of that with their VR headset and the arrival of new games.

Virtual reality really puts the gamer right into the action. It might not be for everyone, but many will align themselves with this system in the future. It remains to be seen what other games will be announced at E3, but details on new games will likely be revealed in the next couple of days leading up to the event.
