"Vampyr" is developed by DontNod Entertainment and looks visually stunning! If you're a fan of the classic "Vampire: The Masquerade" games, then you're in for a giant treat! The story and graphics alone are enough to get any vampire fan or gamer excited and the artwork is absolutely beautiful. Similar to "Vampire: The Masquerade," this will be a third-person, action role-playing game centered around you as, of course, a vampire. Set in 1918 London, you will have the difficult task of balancing what's left of your humanity, quenching your thirst for blood, and making your way through the dark and terrifying underbelly of the city as Spanish Flu spreads horrifyingly throughout.

Awards, delays, and release

After "Vampyr's" stint at E3 in 2017, it won one of GamesRadar's Best of E3 awards and was nominated for 2 others! Originally scheduled for release in November of 2017, it was delayed due to a technical issue which has since been solved. According to Oskar Guilbert, CEO of DontNod Entertainment, "Delaying the release of a project you hold dear is always a tough decision. However, we believe that meeting a deadline should never compromise quality...This delay allows us enough time for all the polishing and balancing phase, much needed for a game of 'Vampyr's' scope, with its ambitious, semi-open world, its complex narrative and deep RPG mechanics that give players a real impact on the world.

DontNod Entertainment will not sacrifice quality for anything, and that's a refreshing take in today's world. "Vampyr" will be released for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC this summer, on June 5.

The story and gameplay of 'Vampyr'

I'm absolutely enthralled with the story of this game! Set in 1918 London after the first World War, the city is falling apart as Spanish flu spreads through it.

The government struggles to rebuild it's city, while at the same time under the shade of night there is a war waging between ancient vampires, scholars of the occult, and vampire hunters! All of whom are attempting to gain dominance over the city and its government.

You'll assume the role of Dr. Jonathan Reid, a surgeon who enlisted in the army during the war only to return home to a greater hell.

His last memory is of being attacked by a shadowy figure reciting a poem. You'll regain consciousness with a sensational lust for blood and now you must levy between finding a cure and acting reasonably as well as quenching your thirst for blood! You will be forced to pick and choose your victims as you see fit. However, every choice you make affects the world around you. Killing a priest and drinking his blood will weigh different consequences than murdering a thief or homeless person. The choice is yours, and play as you want. Give into your dark and animalistic tastes or try to do everything you can to maintain balance and discovering the cure.

You can pre-order now and receive "The Hunters Heirlooms DLC," which includes two weapons and a physician suit. The DLC will also be available for purchase after release. You can follow "Vampyr" on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube for up to the date news and videos!
