Featuring an exciting storyline that is set four years after the events of the main game, the second and final DLC expansion for “Assassin’s Creed Origins” was finally released for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Zombie Nefertiti, giant scorpions and the Egyptian afterlife

Set in the ancient, folklore-riddled city of Thebes, the player will once again ride the body of ancient Bayek as he investigates a curse that has plagued its people. The journey is ripe with new adventures, environments, mythological beasts, and historical Egyptian pharaohs.

The story

Originally setting out to retrieve an artifact for a museum, Bayek soon finds out that grave robbers have incited the wrath of undead pharaoh kings and caused the entire region to fall under an ancient and powerful curse.

Fighting for his life and the afterlife, Bayek faces off with undead legions, jackals, ba-birds, giant scorpions, and other creatures that come from ancient Egyptian mythology.

In recent reviews, the set of "Assassin's Creed Origins: The Curse of the Pharaohs" has been described as reminiscent of "Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones".

New gear, new weapons

Raising the level cap to 55 and introducing a “New Game Plus” Mode with a unique award for those who survive it, the 10-hour-plus add-on also features new locations, new gear and new weapons for Bayek; which you can play once-over as regular DLC or duplicate your "Origins" save to automatically boost your level to 45 and play it several times over.

The goodies don’t come without sweat, as the DLC also takes the player on a series of undead nightmares and battles with legions of Egyptian undead that will surround the magical ancient world in mystery, action and quality stealth.

As shown in recently-released DLC footage, the player will not only have to go up against undead legions that have risen to spite the land for their pillaged tombs, but Bayek will also have to kill the undead kings twice; once in this life, and then again in the afterlife.

Introductory Quest

Originally due on March 6, the DLC release was delayed to March 13 in order to “deliver the best experience possible to our players”, as put by Ubisoft.

To whet our appetite for the adventure that will undoubtedly ensue, the makers released an introductory quest, titled “Among the Dunes," in a free update on February 27. This combat-free mode takes the player on a tour around ancient Egypt.
