PlayStation 4 owners should prepare their wallet for a couple of potentially great games coming out in the next month. With "Monster Hunter: World" and "Dragon Ball FighterZ," 2018 is off to a great start. March promises to continue this momentum with a handful of the biggest releases of the year. This time around, I will be focusing on Sony's home console. Reports by Trusted Reviews provided most of the information used in this article.
'Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom' is designed for JRPG fans
Following up on the original "Ni no Kuni," the sequel has some rather large shoes to fill.
Studio Ghibli is no longer involved with the project, but "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" maintains a similar aesthetic to its predecessor. With an older cast and a heavier focus on hack-and-slash combat, Level 5's JRPG promises to be one of the year's standout releases on the PlayStation 4.
The "Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" story follows Evan Pettiwhisker Tildrum, a young king who aspires to create a kingdom where everyone can be happy. Admittedly, that is quite a tall order for any deity, especially one as naive as Evan. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned and Evan ends up going on a journey to reclaim his rightful place as the ruler of Ding Dong Dell. The PlayStation 4 is about to become linked to a magical place.
"Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom" will be available from March 23.
'Far Cry 5' marks a welcome return for Ubisoft's franchise
"Far Cry 5" has a point to prove. Ubisoft's franchise is coming off three decent entries; yet, there is a fear that the series is running out of steam. "Far Cry 4" played things rather safe, with barely any deviations from its predecessor.
From what Ubisoft has previewed of "Far Cry 5," that issue might still exist. On the other hand, that is great news for PlayStation 4 owners who desire more of the same.
When it comes to "Far Cry," the setting makes or breaks the game. Thankfully, Ubisoft decision to set the next entry in the United States could very well prove to be a masterstroke.
"Far Cry 5" will be available to purchase on the PlayStation 4 from March 27.
'Burnout Paradise' is back with a vengeance
Probably the most surprising game set to be released in March, "Burnout Paradise: Remastered" offers gamers an opportunity to relive Criterion Software's open-world racer. As the original is backward compatible with the Xbox One, the remastered is primarily for PlayStation 4 and PC owners. $40 might be a steep price for an HD remaster, but "Burnout Paradise" is rather special.
"Burnout Paradise: Remastered" will be available to buy from March 16.
