The "God Of War" series made its debut on the PlayStation 2 and has since become one of the most well-recognized PlayStation-exclusive series around. The original games saw a Spartan warrior named Kratos take on the Gods of Olympus on an epic quest for revenge. The intense action gameplay and over the top violence has seen "God of War [VIDEO]" become hugely popular and the series has even seen several spin-off games release on the Sony PSP.

A new beginning

The last time we saw Kratos was in "God of War: Ascension" back on the PS3 in 2013, but we've not heard from the angry warrior in some time. Then, much to the delight of fans, a new "God of War" game was officially announced at Sony's E3 2016 press conference.

The announcement of "God of War" came with a gameplay trailer which showed Kratos had traveled North to lands where the Norse Gods rule. This new chapter sees Kratos traveling with his young son as they try to survive the dangers that await them in this new land.
