The latest updates for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" reveal the DLC expansion of the game based on the new film, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi." Electronic Arts will release the DLC expansion next month and it will feature new playable heroes, maps, vehicles, factions, and more.
There is also a leaked 3D model of General Grievous, teasing that he will be added as a playable hero on the roster. His appearance also sparks the video game fans' speculation that more "Star Wars" characters are coming to game soon.
Who is General Grievous?
General Grievous is a notorious Kaleesh cyborg general of the Confederacy of Independent System, who oppose the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the "Clone Wars." He commands that Separatist Droid Army and has been trained in the Jedi lightsaber arts by Count Dooku and Darth Sidious.
Despite not being a Jedi or a Sith, Grievous is powerful and formidable swordsmen as he was able to go toe-to-toe with the likes of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Reddit username "Piplight" uncovered the 3D model of Grievous in "Battlefront 2's" closed alpha files. It has been speculated that he will be one of the many DLC characters for the sequel's post-launch plans. Other characters include Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala, Obi-Won Kenobi, Count Dooku, Jango Fett, Finn, and Captain Phasma.
"Battlefront 2" will feature heroes from the prequel and new films, and the game will introduce an original character, Iden Versio. Her story will connect the events of "Return of the Jedi" and "The Force Awakens" movies.
She will also be available in the online multiplayer mode.
'The Last Jedi' DLC
EA announced the contents of "The Last Jedi" expansion for "Star Wars Battlefront 2" and it will be available next month. It will start on Dec. 5 and players can "choose" to fight alongside the heroic Resistance or the evil First Order. EA told VG 24/7 that the player's choice can unlock special challenges to earn in-game rewards for their chosen faction.
Finn and Captain Phasma will be available as playable characters on Dec. 13, and each character can be purchased with in-game credits. Players can unlock new upgrades for both characters when they complete game challenges for their faction.
New vehicles and maps related to "The Last Jedi" film are added to the game such as Poe Dameron's X-Wing fighter and planet Crait.
There is also a new story campaign called "Resurrection" and it featured Iden's first year as a member of the First Order.
The game will launch on Nov. 17 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC platforms.
