There is a lot of momentum building ahead of the release of the first "Destiny 2" expansion, "curse of Osiris." The new trailer for the upcoming expansion was recently released, adding fuel to the fire as speculation is running rampant leading up to the eventual release on December 5th.

Social media is filled with such speculation, as there were rumors that the "Destiny" fan-favorite weapon Thorn might re-appear in the upcoming expansion, thanks to stills from the trailer that may or may not have depicted the beloved weapon.

As with any speculation surrounding a game as popular as this, the possibility of the return of Thorn -- and other weapons -- has certainly caused a frenzy among the game's fanbase. While there is much about "Curse of Osiris" that has not been revealed yet, there were reports today of exclusive DLC content for the upcoming expansion on the PS4.

Exclusive 'Destiny 2' DLC content for 'Curse of Osiris' on the PS4

According to Game Spot, although the PS4 already has exclusive content for "Destiny 2," "Curse of Osiris" will include at least one thing that PC and Xbox gamers will not have access to just yet.

Sony recently revealed "Curse of Osiris" during their Paris Games Week showcase. Having said that, however, they did not mention anything relating to exclusive DLC content for "Destiny 2" at the time.

Still, Bungie teased via the Playstation Blog what PS4 players would get as part of the upcoming expansion, including an exclusive Crucible map. No specific details about said map have been shared just yet, but, according to screenshots that have been taken, they show that it is apparently set in the New Pacific Arcology -- a location that players will be familiar with if they've reached Titan in the game as part of the campaign mode.

What do we know so far about the 'Curse of Osiris' expansion for 'Destiny 2'?

As mentioned previously, the "Curse of Osiris" expansion for "Destiny 2" is slated for release on the 5th of December for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. With the release of the "Curse of Osiris" expansion drawing near, along with the speculation of returning weapons -- and exclusive content -- there is certainly a lot to look forward to with a little over a month before release. In the meantime, however, many people are still enamored with the trailer that was recently released, and many YouTubers have gone to work dissecting the trailer frame by frame in an attempt to uncover all the hidden details that will likely be revealed shortly.

If "Destiny" players cannot wait for the upcoming expansion, at the very least, there is a plethora of content to immerse yourself in as a form of distraction until the new expansion is eventually released.
