Three weeks before the launch of the tenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, Ubisoft has released a teaser trailer on how the Brotherhood of Assassins began. The game developer also released the recommended PC configuration for “Assassin's Creed Origins.”

Jose Araiza recently spoke about the development of the PC version of the “Assassin's Creed Origins,” its new features and development process. The game’s producer also discussed how they came up with the minimum and recommended PC requirements.

PC specs and system requirements

“The PC platform overall is really important to us,” Araiza told Chris Watters of Ubisoft Blog. The game producer revealed that the development of the PC version handled by a dedicated Ubisoft Kiev team was in parallel with the development on other platforms like PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The console versions were handled by the main Ubisoft team in Montreal. According to the game producer, they were able to successfully keep the minimum PC requirement at the same level as “Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” which was released back in 2015.

Contrary to the minimum specs, players with powerful PCs will be able to maximize the potential of their PC on “Assassin's Creed Origins.” As Araiza explained, players can use the game’s auto-detect setting which has a default value of 720p at 30 frames per second (FPS).

But for more powerful PCs, players can easily run the game in 4K resolution at 30FPS or higher.

According to Araiza, they used a technique called dynamic resolution which automatically adjusts frame rate as close as possible to target FPS. On the “Assassin's Creed Origins” PC version, players can set target baseline as low as 30FPS up to a maximum 90FPS frame rate, or if their PC configuration gives more, players can completely uncap the frame rate settings, as mentioned earlier.

The PC version also has two new features. First is the built-in Performance Benchmark which allows players to check whether their preferred settings remain compatible in line with the game. The in-game Performance Analysis feature allows real-time, hardware performance checker from Ubisoft’s game engine.

There is another feature called in-game resolution multiplier which allows the engine to automatically adjust the game’s resolution to high or low.

These features will allow both parties to enhance “Assassin's Creed Origins.”

Story of the brotherhood

Meanwhile, Ubisoft released another teaser trailer about the story how the assassins came about. It tells the story of Bayek, protector of Egypt and an instrument of justice and freedom. His objective is to protect his land from the brink of collapse.

However, he started to see which side is true; which side really needs his protection. This changed his resolve and runs away from his destiny to start a new creed and become an assassin. “Assassin’s Creed Origins” is coming out this October 27 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
