There are only a few days more to go before the highly anticipated "Destiny 2" arrives on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (and three weeks for PC), and Bungie has just released a live action trailer for the upcoming game. Unlike the previously released trailers for the upcoming Bungie online-only multi-player first-person shooter video game, this one is a live action trailer that features several familiar names.
For one, it's directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, best known for this year's "Kong: Skull Island" and the upcoming "Metal Gear Solid." What some may not know, he's actually a video games fan, which is why it was easy for him to work on the live action trailer for "Destiny 2." The new trailer also features Nathan Fillon in a voice role, playing Cayde-6.
Jordan Vogt-Roberts on working with Bungie: 'It was a dream'
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts took to Twitter to share his excitement about working with Bungie for the new live action trailer for "Destiny 2." In a series of tweets, he wrote that "Working with Nathan Fillion and Bungie was a dream." He added that the trailer was filmed in Detroit, which the director calls his hometown. He also pointed out that the song featured in the trailer, "Sabotage" is by the iconic Beastie Boys. He mused, "How did I get so lucky?"

We shot the #destiny2 spot in my hometown of Detroit. It's a @Bungie sci fi videogame. The song is the Beastie Boys. How did I get so lucky?

Huge thanks to @Activision @Bungie @72andSunny @Framestore & @rsafilms. Without their talents none of this would've been possible #Destiny2

Director praises Nathan Fillon's voice work
"Castle" and "Firefly" star Nathan Fillon isn't a stranger to video games, as he has previously lent his talents to Bungie titles such as "Halo 3," "Halo: Reach," "Destiny," and 343 Industries' "Halo 5: Guardians." The 46-year old actor voices Cayde-6 in the new live action trailer for "Destiny 2," in which he adds a comedic touch to the devastation that Ghaul has caused in the world.
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts told Collider that while Fillon wasn't on set with them, he "can’t say enough good things" about the actor. Vogt-Roberts explained, "[Fillon] actually went and recorded video of himself riffing the speech," which he perfectly nailed in the trailer.
Bungie's 'Destiny 2' world is 'unique'
Director Jordan Vogt-Roberts also praised the team over at Bungie, telling Gamespot that "Bungie created a world that is super unique—like, incredibly unlike anything else out there." This is why it was important for the director to ensure that they would create a trailer that would not only attract new players but also make the fans of the game say that "'I'm proud of this. This represents the game that I love. This represents the world that I love. I'm glad this thing exists.'" "Destiny 2" arrives to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6 and PC on October 24.
